The Virtek LaserQC laser inspection system has been designed specifically for the precision fabrication industry to provide the ability to quickly and accurately scan and or produce 1st Article Inspection on any flat part during the initial phases of manufacturing. Technical Laser Services has integrated a Laser QC machine into our Quality System as part of our continuous improvement dedication.![]()
The LaserQC system incorporates a Class IIIA eye-safe laser to digitally communicate via a retro reflective material designed into the table chassis. By placing a part on the LaserQC scanning table and selecting the scan feature, the system will immediately activate the laser and begin reading the part into the computer system. The laser communicates with the computer and draws the part on the computer screen, in real-time, as the part is being scanned.
When the scan is completed, the user can instantly store the data in a common geometry-based DXF (Drawing Exchange File) format. The DXF geometry creation features of the LaserQC inspection system provide a common file format compatible with most popular CAD systems on the market today. In a matter of seconds the system can provide a CAD operator with a reverse-engineered geometry file required to incorporate NC code with their CAM applications, while eliminating the costly procedures and time restraints of drawing the part. The inspection features provided by the LaserQC is accomplished by simply comparing the scanned image to the CAD generated DXF that was used to develop the part.
With the LaserQC we are able to generate a cad drawing in seconds for our customers who supply us with a part in the flat. The Virtek LaserQC incorporates a state-of-the-art software utility that instantly defines and highlights any part deviations right on the computer screen. This process provides the inspector or production operator with the instant ability to view and compare the part to the original CAD geometry from which it was developed. From within the inspection utility, the user can easily select any of the scanned entities and apply automatic dimensioning features to assist in rapidly verifying any of the part entities. These automated shop floor level features provide Technical Laser Services with the ability to rapidly complete the inspection process, while increasing productivity.
